Hootentown was a post-Civil War black community located near Jouett Creek on the Athens-Boonesboro. It took its name from the many Hooten families who lived there.

There are two graveyards at Hootentown. Both were recorded by Tamara Ryles (2007).

Graveyard 1

Graveyard 2
